Knittink Trunk Show This Weekend!
Saturday – December 18th from 12 to 5, KnittinK will be in the store with her luscious hand-spun yarns! She’ll be spinning away throughout the day, so come say hi and check out some gorgeous stuff. You might even find just the right thing for that last minute gift!

Destashing auctions to benefit Stand Up To Cancer are going on now (and for the next several weeks! Check them out and see if you can get a great deal while helping a great organization!
Hat Drive starts today, Monday, October 25th! We will be collecting hats again to send to the HatBox Foundation! Last year we collected 62….think we can beat that this year? Our deadline is going to be Saturday November 27th, at closing time. How many hats can we make in a month??
There will be a great prize at the end….that will be announced in just a couple of weeks. For every hat that you bring in, you get an entry for the prize!

MetroWest Yarn Over!!
It’s this weekend! If you have not gotten your tour packet yet, now is the time! No packets will be sold during the tour, so get them from any of the participating stores before closing time on Thursday, September 30th!
We will be open special, extended hours for the tour. Our hours will be:
Friday, October 1st, 11-5
Saturday October 2nd, 11-6
Sunday, October 3rd, 11-5
We have some very special guests planning on coming in! On Friday, from 1-5, Diane Carlson will be in with a gorgeous load of Great Adirondack yarns for all of you. It will be like a mini-trunk show! If you have missed our Trunk Show in the past, this will be a great way to see a sampling of the mesmerizing variety of colors and fibers available from Great Adirondack!
On Saturday, from 12-3, our favorite cashmere lady Ellie will be visiting us!She will be there with her wheel and showing how some of her super luxurious yarn is made and with basketfuls of cashmere for sale. Don’t miss her! To feel her yarn is to want her yarn!
Friday will also be the beginning of our October pattern of the month, which is so squishy and luscious, you’ll want to take a long winter’s nap in it!
And all weekend long, we will have yarn tastings, special deals, and prizes! Stay tuned on our Ravelry Group or through our twitter feed to find out what the extra special deal for each day is! (Just a hint for Friday, the new Interweave Weekend 2010 which has my design for Calomel Gloves might just be apart of Friday’s special deal!)

We are participating in the MetroWest Yarn Over Yarn Crawl! This is a great event that covers 15 stores in the MetroWest area on October 1-3rd. Here’s how it works:
1. Buy your tour packet before the tour begins at Island Yarn for $10.
2. Visit at least 7 stores and get your passport marked that you have been there between October 1-3rd.
3. Come back to Island Yarn before 10/31/10 with your marked passport and get a FREE GIFT as a thank you for participating!

Great Adirondack Trunk Show extended!
Surprise, surprise! I talked to Great Adirondack and they said we could keep the trunk show for a bit longer! Thru next Friday, July 23rd, we’ll still have the trunk show, but all Great Adirondack will be 15% off (including in-stock Adirondack yarns)! Club members receive an additional 10% off making this a huge, huge sale! If you have ever thought of joining the club, maybe this is the week.
A couple of things to plan for with this sale….we are going to do an Einstein Jacket knit-a-long in September…there are some great options now on sale….Chubby, Silk Roving, Obi Bulky, etc….
